Unfortunately, Cancel Culture has reached everywhere. In the end, I think we'll prevail, but it's going to be a long hard road.
What my attorney has pointed out so far, is that by banning those 6 books for no good reason, Ebay is now in Breach of Contract with it's members. Forget about that lame argument that Ebay is a private corporation & they can do whatever they want. Actually, they can't! Here's how it works:
Ebay has a set of rules. When you joined Ebay, either as a buyer, seller or both, you agreed to abide by that set of rules. In other words, Ebay's TOS is a legally binding contract. Moreover, Ebay is not a free service! Ebay collect fees for the use of it's services. So, as a Seller, you agree to pay Ebay a certain amount of money. In return, Ebay agrees to provide you with a service, as set forth in the TOS. There is NOTHING in those 6 Dr. Seuss books that could be demonstrated in a court of law to violate any of Ebay's polices. Therefore, the ban on the sale of these 6 books is Capricious & Arbitrary. As such, it means that Ebay is withholding services it agreed to provide to you. In other words, Ebay has violated it's own contract, & we are the Injured Party.
Right now, I personally am advocating a massive boycott against Ebay for the month of April. According to my attorney, he's already hearing rumblings of a class action lawsuit building. Legally, if you have an active account on Ebay, you would be eligible to join that lawsuit. So keep your eyes & ears open!
