So you’re changing trains in Stockholm, passing through on a cruise, or on your way to another fantastic Swedish destination. What do you do with all that luggage you’ve brought with you?

Where to leave luggage in Stockholm - Routes North (1)

Sometimes you just need a quick place to stash your bags for a few hours, a day, or even overnight. Whether you’re popping in on a day trip, stopping by on an archipelago cruise, or just in town for a few hours on a layover, the question remains: what about your bulky suitcase or wheelie-bag?

Fortunately, there are plenty of lockers around Stockholm where you can store your valuables safely and then pick them up a few hours (or even days) later.

Below we’ve picked out some of the best ‘standard’ places for storing luggage. If you prefer using an app, Bounce is a great solution –it offers 14 different storage locations across Stockholm, plus 24/7 customer support and up to $10k protection for your stuff.

Stockholm Central station

Stockholm’s main transport hub is the giant Stockholm Central station, on Vasagatan in Norrmalm. Here, there are many lockers (förvaringsboxar) of various sizes that you can rent for a minimum of four hours and a maximum of seven days.

The majority of lockers are distributed between the lower floor beside the SL (Stockholm public transport) customer care centre and the first floor, next to the Panini restaurant. Look out for the signs that say Stockholm City Station, where commuter trains and city buses depart.

The rate you pay depends on the size of your luggage and howlong you want to leave it for. Small lockers (36cm width x 44cm height x 60cmdepth; 14.1″ x 17.3″ x 23.6″) cost 60 SEK for four hours, 70 SEK for 24 hours.Large lockers (46cm x 60cm x 85cm; 18.1″ x 23.6″ x 33.4″) cost 80 SEK (fourhours) and 90 SEK (24 hours). You can pay with credit cards or coins.

If your luggage exceeds these dimensions, you’ll have to go tothe manned storage desk on the lower floor besides the SL centre. But note thatthe desk is only open from 9am to 6.30pm.
