Allcards oftheinternational payment systems Visa andMasterCard issued byRussian banks will continue tooperate asnormal inRussia until expiry dates. Transactions with these cards areprocessed inside Russia intheNational Payment Card System andarenotaffected bysanctions. Customers’ funds inrelated card accounts arepreserved andavailable infull.
Theholders ofthese cards will beable tocarry outtransactions inATMs andmake payments with these cards andcard-to-card transfers.
However, cross-border transactions with MasterCard andVisa cards will beunavailable, including forboth purchases inforeign online stores andtransactions abroad. Inthecase offoreign trips, itisrecommended tohave cash andMir cards forthecountries accepting thelatter. Currently, these areTurkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, South Ossetia, andAbkhazia.
