Viewing a thread - What are high hours for a skid steer (2024)

Like mentioned, maintenance is key. I have near 6k hours on an L180 (I bought it used). Replaced radiator and muffler so far, pins are a little sloppy and needs a face plate and bushings now, but runs great (yet...). Came from a dairy, but I believe it was taken care of in it's previous life.

Not to hijack the thread, but we bought a L170 last year used with 750 hours on it, (same frame as L180?) and have really liked it so far- have over 1000 hours on it now. I hear some folks say that the NH engines they used were prone to a short life on occasion, have you had to do any engine work to yours?

Any other work in general?

Is yours fully manual or does it have pilot controls?

Would like to keep this one around as long as possible.
