Great post from Alex Harman. RFQ works well for ETF’s of course but we do need alternatives. On that point, there has been great improvement to brokers algo offerings. The paper is worth a read. What I really like here though is we have all parts of the trading ecosystem working together to improve trading options and outcomes for clients. We only move forward by working together…

The Revenge of the Stock Pickers: recent market moves remind me of the research Hailey Lynch, Rob Panariello, Jim Tzitzouris, David Giroux and I did a few years ago on active vs. passive. When an exchange-traded fund (ETF) trades heavily around a theme, correlations among its constituents increase significantly. Even some securities that have little or negative exposure to the theme itself begin to trade in lockstep with other ETF constituents.
