A vast network of medical institutions, volunteers, and community workers make up Nepal's health system. With a large difference between urban households (85.9 percent) and rural households (59 percent), just 61.8% of Nepalese families have access to health services within 30 minutes. Interventions at the population level are urgently needed to address health service obstacles. In general, death rates are greater in rural than in urban areas, especially in mountainous locations, because of the lack of health facilities and the difficult terrain. However, rural regions in Nepal have seen more dramatic declines in under-5 mortality over the period of 15 years, with fatalities falling by more than 50%.

Domestic politics in Nepal have undergone a huge and dramatic change. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives on December 20, 2020, on the advice of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and called early elections for April and May of 2021. The Nepal Communist Party (NCP), which is in power, had a significant internal split that threatened to remove Oli from office. A constitutional crisis might arise if elections are not held within six months of the date of dissolution. In Nepal, the consumer price inflation rate has ranged between -3.1 percent and 19.8 percent over the last 56 years. A 4.1 percent inflation rate was projected for 2021.During the monitoring period from 1965 to 2021, the average annual inflation rate was 8.0 percent. The whole price increase was 6,849.74 percent. An item that cost 100 Rupee in 1965 cost 6,949.74 Rupee at the start of 2022. According to a nationwide survey, around 43.20 percent of respondents ranked inflation as the country's second most significant concern.
