Five out of the 20 most gentrified cities in the United States are right here in California. That’s according to new rankings from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition.
For the study, researchers identified 954 gentrifying neighborhoods. Most of them were clustered in the following metropolitan areas:
1. San Francisco-Oakland, CA
2. Denver, CO
3. Boston, MA
3. Miami-Fort Lauderdale, FL
4. New Orleans, LA
5. Austin, TX
6. New York City
7. San Jose, CA
8. Phoenix, AZ
9. Sacramento, CA
10. Minneapolis, MN
11. Indianapolis, IN
12. Washington, D.C.
13. San Diego, CA
14. Los Angeles, CA
15. Baltimore, MD
16. Chicago, IL
17. Philadelphia, PA
18. Detroit, MI
19. Dallas, TX
