Ireland crowned Europe’s friendliest country

The medal of Europe’s friendliest and most welcoming country goes to Ireland. With its green, wild landscapes, the country charms its visitors. Nature lovers will find plenty of places to enjoy Ireland’s vast landscapes, full of green landscapes and rocky spaces such as the Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim. It’s no surprise that the Game Of Thrones producers took advantage of the stunning scenery to filming scenes there. Those wishing to immerse themselves in Celtic culture and folklore will appreciate the many typical pubs and restaurants, where they can get to know their hosts better.

The second winner on this list is Portugal, in southern Europe. Its authentic cities, cultural richness and the welcoming inhabitants make it an increasingly popular destination for holidaymakers. From the Algarve region, voted best seaside destination of the year, to Lisbon’s exceptional cultural heritage, and of course the beaches of Porto, Portugal keeps on delighting visitors.

The final place in the ranking’s top spots is taken by Greece. The thousands of islands that make up the country, scattered across the Aegean Sea, continue to attract holidaymakers year after year, flying in for plenty of sun and relaxation. The capital, Athens, thrills history lovers with its thousand-year-old Acropolis. Santorini is a perfect setting for those who want to enjoy a seawater soak in an exceptional setting. And if tourists are this fond of Greece, it is also thanks to the fresh and generous local gastronomy. Tatziki, Fassoulada, Spanakópita, Moussaka… dishes with names as exotic as they are appetising, sure to be a delight to any tourist set to try them.
