Teaching your kids about money is one of the most important things that a parent can teach a child, but it is quite often overlooked. It seems to me that a lot of parents simply expect their kids to automatically know how to create a budget or how to build an emergency fund. It’s almost like people think that children are born with the money management skills they will need in life. Unfortunately, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Kids aren’t born with the knowledge to manage their money and the schools won’t teach them so it falls to their parents to do. If you don’t, who will? No one. Your kids have money questions they want answeredand using a book to introduce a subject is a fantastic way to get – or keep – them interested in something. These 40 books that teach kids about money are a great place to start teaching those lessons!
As I said, one of the best ways to teach kids about anything is by usinga good book. Even the smallest kids love to be read toand there’s no reason that those books can’t reach a much needed lesson along with that imaginative story. As your kids get older, the topics of the books they read will change, but the lessons they receive from those books won’t. I’m sure you’ll find at least one that your kids will love to learn from! Since this list is so long, I separated it by age.
