If money was no option, how would you improve your home?

How does a helter skelter-style staircase with a built-in slide for the kids sound? Or maybe an outdoor home cinema where you can watch the latest films from the comfort of your inflatable pool chair?

These are just some of the extravagant home improvements being made by property owners who have big ideas and big bank accounts.

Teeing-off...without leaving the house: A putting green, complete with slopes to challenge home golfers is a very modern way to add value to your home

A series of images shows that the sky's the limit when it comes to adding novel - and almost always expensive - ways to make their 'cribs' stand out from neighbouring abodes.

It's not clear whether some of the photos really exist or are simply the stuff of idle daydreams, mocked up by those who yearn to own a home with heaps of wow factor.

Among the more adventurous high-spec additions is a substantial climbing wall built next to a staircase. And if you fancy going straight from the bedroom to the swimming pool, one particularly natty design shows a waterslide that can do just that.

Built into the room's wardrobe, the flume is linked directly to the pool room below, ensuring that guests can drop straight into the water for a cooling dip when they wake up in the morning.

Climbing the walls...literally: This property brings the pursuit of rock-climbing into the home, ensuring inhabitants can don crampons and enjoy some high-octane fun before dinner

Other extravagant water-based ideas include a spa-style waterfall shower and a pool that comes with its own inflatable chairs overlooks a large cinema screen.

Elsewhere, a jungle-style outdoor shower features. The private wood-clad cubicle delivers a refreshing blast in the middle of a rainforest setting.

For those who are high on funds but low on space and don't fancy moving, there's also some natty space-saving ideas including a hidden carport that's built under the driveway so you can effectively house two or more vehicles in the same space.

Other ingenious designs to create extra space from nowhere include a modern take on the hidden bookcase and a floor that can be lifted up to reveal extra drawers built underneath it.

If impressing your friends coming over for dinner is the main aim, there's also an indoor putting green with challenging slopes and even a rustic-style home cinema with oversized cushions and a roaring log fire.

Kids will also love the wooden spiral staircase that turns getting from floor to floor into a helter skelter ride. An alternative design sees a direct slide right next to the stairs, meaning you can whizz from upper to lower in seconds, with minimum effort.

One for the daredevils: This floor hammock design removes the ceiling and lets you hang loose from a great height
