When opulent mansions come to mind, one automatically thinks of Los Angeles, the Hamptons or Miami. However, a new study found that Utah is home to the three cities in the U.S. with the highest proportion of mansions. The study was conducted by financial technology company SmartAsset, which defines mansion as a home with at least five bedrooms and 15 rooms. To find the cities with the most such homes, SmartAsset analyzed Census Bureau survey data on people living in America’s largest 100 metro areas.Provo-OremIn the top spot was Provo-Orem where more than 2.4% of homes have at least five bedrooms and 15 total rooms. This was more than double the percentage of mansions in every other major U.S. metro except for three.
