Tourism comprises of various activities which include traveling for leisure or business
whereby an individual stays in a different place than their usual locations. There is a mutual
relationship between hospitality and tourism, thus making them the most abundant and fastest-
growing industry (Walker, 2014). The interrelated nature of hospitality and tourism means that
each scope affects one another because of their direct relationship. Both tourism and hospitality
go hand in hand in that hospitality offer various services to tourists more significantly the facility
of accommodation. Hospitality ensures that tourists have an enjoyable environment during their
travel.
According to the diagram, the interrelated nature of hospitality, travel, and tourism
happens in a manner that the various dynamics in the hospitality and tourism industry go hand in
hand in the delivery of services to satisfy the needs of the tourists. People travel for different
reasons. Therefore, the interrelated nature between travel, tourism, and hospitality happens when
a person decides to visit a particular location for various reasons. As people travel offers multiple
services such as airlines and airports which enables them to tour their intended sites, the
hospitality industry gets a chance to provide multiple services as indicated in the diagram which
includes restaurants and food service, recreation and special events, assembly management, and
lodging services. In other words, the interrelated nature happens when a tourist travels into a
place stays there for a while and eat in a restaurant (Walker, 2014). Restaurants and food services
is one of the core component under hospitality, travel, and tourism as they enable travelers to
fulfill their needs, such as fine dining and non-alcoholic beverages. There has to be an intact
coordination between all the services in travel, tourism, and hospitality to create an effective
environment for the tourists. For instance, in the managed services, the food service operations
ensure that they satisfy the wants of their guests they deliver, for example, to an airline.
