As of the third quarter of 2023, the majority of the employed individuals (around 9.3 million people) in South Africa worked from 40 to 45 hours per week. Some 4.55 million worked over 45 hours weekly, while 1.17 million worked from 15-29 hours per week. On the other hand, the number of individuals with less than 15 hours work week was only 530,000.
