'Selling The OC's Alex Hall Tells 'WH' Exactly Where She Stands With The Cast (2024)

Clear your schedule because Selling the OC, the latest real estate drama from the Oppenheim Group, just dropped on Netflix, and I hereby declare it mandatory viewing.

From the moment 32-year-old realtor Alex Hall appears on screen in a plunging red dress, it's clear she's a star. And when you see her heels (which are so thin she seems as to be levitating through one of her $106 million Laguna Beach listings) you may find yourself, in a word, obsessed.

The OC’s latest reality queen dished to Women’s Health ahead of the show’s premiere about the intra-office politics with Alexandra Rose and Alexandra Jarvis (yes—in this cast of 11 agents, there are three different Alexandras), what "nosing" really means, and what the future holds for her and her fellow cast members.

But wait, who is Alex Hall outside of Selling The OC?

Alex is a new realtor at the O Group’s office in Orange County, where she was born and raised. Alex has been selling high-end real estate for nearly a decade and has a background in interior design, per her O Group bio.

A quick scroll through Alex’s insta, which is refreshingly normal, shows her hobbies include roller skating with her dog...

Hitting the beach (it is Orange County, after all)...

And spending lots of time with her adorable kids.

During a confessional, Alex calls herself a perfectionist and says that when you are a single mom, “failure is not an option."

She's trying to stay grounded.

Alex is more of a behind-the-scenes kind of gal. In fact, her uptick in Instagram followers is completely foreign and overwhelming to her. The day before the premiere, she had some 4,600 followers. A day after the premiere, that number has hit 18.3k, and rises by the minute.

"I have like four DMs, and I’m like, ‘Ahhh, I don’t know what to do!'" Alex tells Women's Health. "It still doesn’t feel real."

"When we were filming, people would say to me, 'You’re going to be the star,' but I really don’t see it that way," she says. But this single mom is very ambitious—and she knew this project could bring big opportunities.

"Anything I can to secure a future for my children and me, I pretty much will do," she adds. "My goal for this journey is staying true to myself and staying grounded."

But... things are still up in the air with Kayla.

Alex Hall and co-star Kayla Cardona seem pretty tight in the first episode, but after some drama over a listing (which may or may not be overpriced), allegiances shift.

Oh, and there’s the other major piece of drama, when—spoiler alert—Kayla tries to kiss fellow O Group agent and actress Brittany Snow's husband, Tyler Stanaland, at a party. Alex was definitely not a fan of that move.

Alex posted an IG Story the day after the premiere, responding to a question about whether she thought she was being too nosy. "I do not :)," she said. “Tyler had asked Kayla to ‘stop’ multiple times & occasions off camera and she continued."

Alex and Kayla's working relationship seems to have stayed a bit frosty, as Alex only named Polly Brindle, Tyler, Austin Victoria, and Brandi Marshall among her O Group besties.

In fact, she was pretty circuitous when talking about where things stand with Kayla."There are some people I tread lightly with and have decided to keep at an arm’s length while still being cordial," she says. "I’m watching from afar to see if our morals align."

She did not start *that* rumor about Alexandra Rose.

Alex is at the center of an ongoing feud that crops up between the agents. It's basically Rose and Jarvis versus everyone else.

On the show, Rose accuses Alex of spreading a rumor that Rose sleeps with developers to get listings. This was misconstrued and difficult to follow on TV, Alex tells WH. She says she actually just told Rose about a rumor going around the office.

"I said you better be careful because it is a very small town," Alex explains. "And there is a rumor going around that your moral compass is off, and you sleep with or do things with developers to get listings."

Alex says Rose laughed it off and denied it. But then, she confronted her other coworkers about the rumor, leading to general awkwardness and drama for episodes to come.

Let the record show—Alex Hall did not start this rumor (according to her). But she says the whole thing left a sour taste in her mouth for both Alexandras.

When asked by an IG follower what she has against Rose and Jarvis, Alex responded via her Instagram story: “I don’t do fake…and people speaking about me that I’ve never had more than a few exchange of sentences with is 🤯.”

She still thinks Gio was blowing the alleged "snub" out of proportion.

At one of his sake and sushi-themed broker’s opens, Selling the OC cast member Gio Helou confronts Alex Hall on behalf of his wife, saying his wife tried to give Alex a big hug and hello at a recent office party, and Alex "snubbed" her.

But Alex now says she feels "vindicated" by the party footage: The greeting was a little awkward, sure, but she did say hello.

"This really didn't sit well with me," Alex tells WH. "He made a mountain out of a molehill even though there wasn’t any substance to what he was saying."

Now, about that "nosing" thing...

There is also some discussion about "nosing" on the show. Yes, you heard that right.

Alex wanted to clarify that "nosing" is not a sexual act. It is simply putting your mouth on someone’s nose, as she does to Tyler in an early beach scene. Of course, this later gets controversial.

"It’s pretty disgusting, actually," she tells WH.

Alex Hall is in it for the long haul.

The newly-minted reality TV personality is most definitely ready to run it back again should a second season come down the pipeline. "I am down for seasons 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. All of it," Alex says. "At least for now. Talk to me after it airs!"
