How to Enable ANT+ in Android Devices 
ANT+ is supported natively in a few mobile devices. For an updated list see: android enabled smartphones.
If your device does not have ANT+ capabilities you can add an external adapter. There are two options and depending on your Android software version and device hardware capabilities you can choose which one best suits you. We will try to clarify these issues in the paragraphs below.

If you have Android version 3.0 and higher AND your device has USB Host capabilities then you can use a ANT USB stick together with a USB OTG (OnTheGo) cable. The Pixel, Pixel 2, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 tablet, Nexus 5, 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones, the HUAWEI P8, P9, P10, the Samsung Galaxy S5, S6, S7, S8 and many other high-end newest devices have USB Host capabilities. You need to install the ANT Radio Service, ANT+ Plugins and the ANT USB service. -
If you have Android version 2.3.4 and higher AND your device does not have USB Host capabilities you can use our Android ANT+ accessory. Your device has to support the Android accessory protocol. If you find the Selfloops ANT Service in the Google Play store with your device it means your device supports the Android Accessory Protocol. To use our Android ANT+ accessory you need to install the ANT Radio Service and the Selfloops ANT Service. Note, the accessory does not support ANT-FS and burst messages. A normal USB A to USB micro cable is needed.
IMPORTANT NOTE
With external ANT+ adapters you can connect to sensors and devices that use the ANT+ standard. Applications written using the official ANT APIs will all work just fine. Our Selfloops and Selfloops Group Fitness applications are fully certified by the ANT+ Alliance and support a great number of ANT+ sensors, such as bike power meters (SRM, CycleOps PowerTap, SRAM Quarq, Power2Max, Garmin Vector), heart rate monitors, cadence and speed sensors, foot pods and weight scales. The Endomondo Sports Tracker application supports external ANT+ adapters.

How to test the USB host functionality in your device ?
To check whether your device supports USB Host (or USB OnTheGo or USB OTG) check www.gsmarena.com, or just try to download the ANT USB service from your device from the Google Play Store. If you cannot find it, it means your device does not support USB Host (needed to use the external ANT+ accessory). Another way to test if your device has USB Host capabilities is to use diagnostic applications that you can find in the Google Play Store. One of those application is USB Host Diagnostics.
