I have truly seen God's hand orchestrating events and OVER providing for me my entire life, but more specifically, throughout the past 2 years.
I am a testament to the fact that our God is truly, truly a loving and caring Father!"How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee!" (Ps. 139:17,18)
The quick story on why I am currently typing this up:
Long story short, I have always wanted to be a pediatrician. I love kids, I love biology, to me...that sounded like the dream job. However, my last semester in college, I felt so dissatisfied. And then, something happened...I got introduced to medical missionary work. A fire was kindled, and the more I studied about the Great Medical Missionary himself, Jesus Christ, the bigger the fire grew. From that moment on, I knew that the Lord was calling me to be a medical missionary. And I knew that because it was the Lord who ignited that fire, there was nothingthat could thwart His master plans!
"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matt. 5:14-16)
The major plea of my heart for the past 2 years was for the Lord to allow me to be a) submissive and b) attentive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. (Is. 30:21)
And THIS has been the key to my happiness!! I get that question ALOT! : "Why are you always so happy?!"
I am happy because I know that God is leading me. And I know that God is leading me..because I asked Him to! And whatever happens to me, wherever I end up, I know one of two things:
1) He is trying to draw me closer to Him
2)He is trying to draw someone else closer to Him through me!
And for these 2 reasons, God directed me to a medical missionary training school based in Tenessee called MEET Ministry(http://www.meetministry.org/).
I wasn't sure how I was going to be able to afford the tuition, but because I am sure that is where the Lord is leading me, I resolved to ask no questions and submit the application.
Here is the thing: I just submitted the application today (the 10th of February), and the deadline was January 4th. Next, the deadline for a deposit of half of the tuition, also passed (it was February 1st).
Did that shake my faith? Not at all! I submitted that application, and the Lord reminded me that He is always in control. (A student canceled last minute, and there is one last spot open!)And I can still attend If I submit the deposit by the 24th of February!
I already know that the Lord will provide, but I just wanted this to be an encouragement to you. We oftentimes forget that the same God of the Old Testament who parted the waters for the Israelites, provided all of their needs in the wilderness for 40 years, and brought them over to the land that He had promised, is the same God of today, and he is just as capable of doing exceedingly and abundantly over anything that we could ever ask or think of!!
We just have to surrender, walk out on faith, and allow Him to work great and mighty things through and for us!
