SAN ANTONIO - The United States Census Bureau reports that large southern cities, including San Antonio, are leading the nation in population growth.
The Vintage 2022 Population Estimates released Thursday that of the nine fastest-growing cities in the South, six were in Texas.
According to The U.S. Census Bureau, Texas was the only state that had more than three cities on both "the 15 fastest-growing large cities and towns."
Fort Worth, Texas had the largest numeric population gain in 2022 with an increase of 19,170 people, Phoenix City, Arizona with a 19,053 population gain, and San Antonio with an 18,889 population gain.
San Antonio currently has a total population of 1,472,909 and sits at rank number seven in the 15 most populous cities in the United States since July 1, 2022.
