THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER has been unleashed in theaters and a movie like this is exactly the kind that the 4DX cinematic format was invented to enhance. Normally, we like to advise 4DX for second viewing of films but if even if you haven’t yet seen the latest entry into Marvel Cinematic Universe, we still think it’s an absolutely fantastic way to enjoy this story.

A 4DX screening is a feast for the senses and although 3D glasses are not part of this experience, it’s still a multi-sensory explosion of thunder and lightning!

The folks at 4DX never cease to find fun ways to immerse you deeper into the movie with the built-in motion-enabled seats. The multi-faceted seats don’t recline but they do offer a whole lot of motion to help you feel the rumble of thunder or bob and weave during the epic battles. Despite the epic scope of the film, the movement here felt suitably restrained for a good balance of action and relaxing. Keep in mind, there’s no safety spiel so don’t forget to hang on tight to those hats, glasses, and popcorn buckets!

Moving seats aren’t the only effect to make a 4DX adventure special. This is multi-sensory experience boasts other surprises that include gusts of wind as you soar over New Asgard; scent effects to enhance lush gardens and sweeping oceans; and strobe effects to really accentuate the lightning (and thunder!)

Plus, although we didn’t notice their usage at our screening, 4DX theaters are typically also equipped to deliver additional effects including sprinkles of mist, puffs of smoke/fog, snow (we were surprised not to see a little during a scene or two where it would have worked), bubbles, hot air, and seat pokers.

You might have seen a ScreenX mega widescreen presentationor noshed on over-priced eats in a dine-in theater, but if you haven’t experienced a 4DX format film before, you’re truly missing out on a really fun way to enjoy blockbuster movies.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER is playing now in theaters and is available in several formats including 4DX which you can learn more about here.
