I’ve been born to a parents na negosyante, Sa Probinsya namin, They are wholesale & retailer ng bigas with sari-sari store, lumber yard, piggery, manokan may barber shop at iba pa na hindi ko na ma remember.

I remember I was in elementary that time na umiyak nanay ko dahil kinain ng daga ang pera namin na nakalagay sa kaban (a wooden rectangular cabinet aka kaha de yero kumbaga
:p) totally wiped out parang bulang naglaho ang pinaghirapan nila.
Then Next nasunog yung tindahan namin, ang sabi nila mas maige pang binagyo or nanakawan at least may matitira pa sa pinaghirapan mo, Pag nasunogan lahat nagiging abo buti nalang ligtas kami kasi they definitely don’t believe in Life insurance kesyo na “nunglo” or it’s a “Death Wish”.

It’s a true story of my life na I want to share kasi I was deeply affected by it. In Restrospect, What happen to my parents was an example of being ignorant or kulang sa impormasyon or not well educated with regards to their finances , pero meron silang excuse noon kasi nga di sila well informed they thought it’s just an additional expense not knowing fully well it’s for their protection.

We are so Lucky today, kasi we are in the era of Information and Communication Technology —computers, social media – If we need information about something we just have to search for it.

Ang sarap isipin na they needed us and we are very protective with our kids because that’s our instinct to be there for them. Nung malalaki na sila, syempre tayo matanda na, sakitin, alagain, arugain , slow na di lang sa paglalakad kung di sa pag iisip, and we can’t decide for ourselves na, sila na ang may decision sa lahat ng bagay kasi it’s their time to take care for us.

Ang Mahirap kahit ayaw natin na alagaan wala na tayong magawa;

“nay dun ka muna ke ate”

“Jun ikaw naman mag-alaga ke nanay kasi busy ako this week”

“Nay, may sakit si baby dun ka muna kila kuya”

“Si bunso naman mag-alaga sayo nay, wala na akong trabaho eh”

Pag Tumanda kang walang ipon, para kang naglalaro ng Trip to Jerusalem… Pinag pasa pasahan… palipat-lipat… walang permanente. Ayaw nating mangyari yun di ba? Ang gusto lang naman natin ay yung feeling na we are not a burden to them , gusto natin na di sila nahihirapan sa ating pagtanda ,gusto natin na ma-enjoy nila tayo at ma-enjoy natin ang remaining years ng ating buhay… So dapat, We are Financially Independent not a Burden but a Gift and it’s our responsibility na ilagay sa ayos ang lahat as early as today.

A Jeepney Ride to Mutual Funds101

Posted on October 25, 2018June 19, 2020 by mommieshomeblog

Heto na, may pera na tayong pang invest but Paano? how and where? Anong Asset ba ang nag go grow in value? Saan ba natin pedeng palaguin ang ating pera? Mutual funds may be the most suitable investment for you!

The fund manager will then invest the money in different instruments like stocks, bonds, or both, that can potentially make the money grow long-term.

RetirementFund – Just Talk (13)The Journey — When you invest in the stock market yourself, para kang nag-mamaneho ng sarili mong kotse.Whether to turn left, right, slow down, or go faster –diskarte mo na yan! Ang importante lang, you should know how the stock market works and the risks involved, the same way you should know how to drive a car safely.

But if you don’t know how to drive, pwede kang mag-jeep! At sa pagsakay mo sa jeep, kasama mo sa byahe ang iba’t ibang pasahero na kapareho ng ruta ng pupuntahan mo.Para din samutual funds where the passengers are investors like you and the jeepney driver is the fund manager. You trust that the driver will get you to your desired destination safely, the same way you will entrust the fund manager your money, keep it safe, and make it grow. And the same way you pay the jeepney driver, investing in mutual funds has fees too.

The Different Routes –Jeepneys have different routes which tells us where they will go, pick-up, and drop-off passengers. Depending on their specified route, they cannot go anywhere when they feel like it. Mutual Funds have “routes” too! As I have mentioned earlier, the fund manager can only invest in an instrument depending on how the fund was set-up. To understand this better, here are the different types of mutual fund.

1. Money Market Fund –Kung sandali lang ang gusto mong byahe, at kakailanganin mo yung pera ng madalian, you can get a money market fund where the money is invested in short-term debt securities (bonds). It’s less risky than other funds, but it also has low returns.

2.Bond Fund –Kung kakayanin mo naman ang byahe na medyo matagal ng kaunti, meaning you’re somewhat in between short-term and long-term investing, you can consider investing in a bond fund. It has lesser risk than other funds,at mas malaki ng kaunti ang returns compared sa money market funds.

The money is invested in bonds and also in the stock market. If you’re willing to take a risk, but not too much, and you want higher earning potential than a bond fund, this is an option for you.

There are more types of funds depending on the company offering them. What’s important is that you know: Where does the money go? How long can you wait? and How much risk can you take? So if you want to be diversified, invest a small amount, and have someone who will do the thinking and monitoring of your investments of have a fund manager.
