Does a study permit extension get rejected? ›

Usually study permit extensions are refused because the student did not comply with the conditions of their study permit.

Use the BRP replacement service from within the UK. You'll usually get a decision on your application within 6 months of applying online. If your application is approved, your BRP will be sent to you with your decision letter. There are other ways to prove your immigration status while you wait for a replacement BRP.

The processing time varies and can take several months. If you haven't applied for restoration of study permit and more than 90 days have passed from the expiry date, you have to leave the country and apply for a new study permit from your country of residence/citizenship.

Applying from inside the UK

You must apply before your current visa expires. Your new course must begin within 28 days of your current visa expiring.
