PNC Virtual Wallet with Performance Spend1

PNC combines Checking and Savings accounts into one offer – a Virtual Wallet. The Virtual Wallet includes:

  • Spend: a checking account earning interest in some tiers.
  • Reserve: for short-term savings.
  • Growth: for long-term savings.

The Virtual Wallet is available in three tiers:

  • PNC Virtual Wallet with Performance Spend

  • PNC Virtual Wallet Student

If you have PNC Virtual Wallet with Performance Spend, the Spend account has a minimum opening deposit of $25 when opened at a branch or $0 when opened online. There’s a Monthly Service Charge of $15, which can be waived if you meet any one of the following:

  • $2,000 combined average monthly balance in your Spend and Reserve accounts
  • $10,000 combined average monthly balance across linked PNC Bank deposit accounts
  • $2,000 in qualifying monthly direct deposits to your spend account during the statement period ($1,000 for WorkPlace or Military banking customers)

There’s no minimum deposit required to open Reserve or Growth accounts. Balances for those accounts earn interest, and there are no monthly service charges for either one.
Checks cost $5, and there’s also a $5 fee for paper statements with check images.¹

You will not need to pay monthly service fees for a Reserve or Growth account.

Cash withdrawals at non-PNC ATMs in the U.S. cost $3 per withdrawal, while cash withdrawals at non-PNC ATMs outside the U.S. cost $5 per withdrawal.³

You can be reimbursed for up to two non-PNC Bank ATM fees per month, up to a limit of $5. A fee of $3 applies to debit card cash advances made at PNC branches. The fee increases to $5 for advances made at other financial institutions that accept Visa.

Overdraft fees

PNC charges you a fee every time you make a transaction with insufficient funds in your account – $36 per transaction. The overdraft fee is in addition to the transaction amount.

There are some conditions associated with overdraft fees:

  • You don’t have to pay an additional charge if the amount credited by PNC is $5 or less.
  • The maximum number of overdraft fees charged per day is one for Spend accounts and four for Reserve or Growth accounts.

There’s no charge for overdraft protection when PNC moves money to your Spend account to cover transactions. Funds are moved from Reserve to Spend first, then from Growth to Spend if there’s not enough in Reserve to cover the amount.1-3

ATM fees

The ATM withdrawal fee for a non-PNC ATM is $3 per withdrawal in the United States and $5 per withdrawal outside of the country. This fee applies to most accounts but can be waived in certain circ*mstances (for example, if you have PNC Virtual Wallet with Performance Select).

As mentioned, PNC Bank does reimburse you for up to two foreign ATM surcharges per month. The maximum reimbursem*nt is $5, and funds are applied to your Spend account at the end of the statement period.1-3

Stop payment fees

You can stop already-signed checks and recurring debt payments if you do not want the transaction to be completed. Typically, doing this will incur stop payment fees. At PNC, this fee is $33 per stopped payment.1,3

The stop payment fee is waived for PNC Virtual Wallet with Performance Select accounts.²

Wire transfer fees

You can use wire transfers to send money electronically. Here’s what a wire transfer costs at PNC:

Domestic wire transfer fee:

  • Receiving an incoming wire transfer: $15.
  • Sending an outgoing wire transfer: $25-30.

Foreign wire transfer fee:

  • Receiving an incoming wire transfer: $15.
  • Sending an outgoing wire transfer: $40-45.

Third parties or other banks may charge fees in addition to those described above.1-3
