Platinum Jubilee £5 Coin | The Royal Mint (48)

To celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s remarkable 70-year reign, we have struck the Platinum Jubilee collection, which includes a UK £5 coin – the traditional way to mark a royal occasion. Both sides of the coin were designed by the experienced coinage artist John Bergdahl. The reverse features a crowned depiction of the Royal Arms, whilst the obverse bears the commemorative Platinum Jubilee portrait of The Queen.

Selected coins feature the edge inscription ‘SERVE YOU ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE’, which was inspired by Her Majesty’s 1952 Christmas message. The booklet that accompanies each coin features an introduction by the royal historian and author Professor Kate Williams, and reveals how the coinage portraits have charted The Queen’s remarkable 70-year reign.
