Hi Group,
I come from an Oracle background and I am trying to relate functionality between SAP and Oracle. Specifically, controlling the sizing of planned orders.
In Oracle we have three fields on what we call the General Planning tab. This tab is similar to the Material Master MRP2 tab in SAP. The modifiers are:
Fixed Order Quantity: Planned orders are created with the quantity value entered here. This modifier over-rides all others. If this modifier is populated the following two modifiers below do not apply. As an example of how it works, If the modifier value is 1000 and the unsatisfied demand is 1001, MRP will generate two planned orders of 1000 each. This modifier is commonly used when materials are externally procured by the truckload.
Fixed Days Supply: This modifier looks forward and sums the unsatisfied demand over the time range of days specified. It creates a planned order to meet the unsatisfied demand over this time range. It can be used in conjunction with the next modifier.
Fixed Lot Multiplier: This modifier creates planned orders that are divisible by the value specified here. For example, If the value is set at 350 and demand is 1000, MRP will create a planned order equal to 1050. 350 multiplied by 3, which meets the demand of 1,000. This modifier is typically used when products are procured or manufactured in specific batch/container quantities.
I am most interested in finding a similar control in SAP for Fixed Lot Multiplier. It seems to me that logically this would be the "Rounding Value" on the SAP MRP2 tab within the Lot Size Data subsection.
Can anybody here confirm that this is how Rounding Value works?
Thank you so much.
