Why am I not able to track my passport? ›

If the Speed Post Centre staff is unable to locate your address, the passport will be returned to your PSK. In such cases, contact your Regional Passport Office for assistance. If the delivery tracking information is not available, it means that your passport has not yet been dispatched.

Tracking number not found; implying that your passport is not yet ready and may need to wait longer.

You can also check your passport's status over the phone by calling 877-487-2778. Customer service representatives are available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday. The call center is closed on federal holidays.

If your passport status says "Passport application is under review at Regional Passport Office", it means that your application is currently being reviewed by the Regional Passport Office (RPO). This is a normal part of the passport application process, and it can take some time for the RPO to complete their review.

An individual is assigned a passport reference file number at the moment of submitting an application. This number is 12 digits long. This number can be used to check the status of their passport application online. This number is assigned to every person who is applying for a passport.
