I'm thrilled to share that a few weeks ago, I started my internship at Good Startup, a leading venture capital firm in the alternative protein industry. It fills me with pride to use my financial expertise to effect tangible change in society through this firm. With the world's population growing, the urgency for sustainable food sources intensifies. Approximately half of the global agricultural land is dedicated to livestock, significantly contributing to deforestation, biodiversity loss and greenhouse gas emissions.Good Startup's mission is to eliminate the use of animals in the food system.The potential for impact is enormous. For example, switching to plant-based or cultivated meat diets could drastically reduce cropland use by 90%, greenhouse gas emissions by 96%, and nitrogen fertilizer needs by 94% compared to the same amount of animal-based protein, while also promoting non-violent food choices. These statistics underscore the significant impact of our work. I am fortunate to share that on the 25th of this month I commenced my journey with Asia-Pacific’s premier university National University of Singapore to pursue Masters of Science in Finance.
