How it works

Multi-tier bonuses will vary depending on ride requirements and bonus payout by tier.

To earn one or more of the bonus tiers, follow these steps:

  1. Complete the specified number of rides before the end date.

  2. When you complete the ride requirement for each tier, you’ll see the bonus in your earnings.

  3. Earn more by hitting the ride requirement for the next tier within the time frame provided.

Before you begin

You'll need to enter a valid new driver promotion code in the 'Promo/Referral' code space when you start your application. It must be entered at the time of your application.

  • If you use a new driver promo link from Facebook, Craigslist, or Google, the code should be automatically entered for you.

  • If you don't enter a code when you start your application, youwon'tbe eligible for the new driver promotion. The code cannot be added after signup.

Multi-tier bonus example

Here is an example of a multi-tier bonus for new drivers:

Example: Multi-tier bonus up to $900

  • Give a total of 10 rides for an extra $50.

  • Give a total of 40 rides for an extra $100 bonus ($150 total).

  • Give a total of 100 rides for an extra $250 bonus ($400 total).

  • Give a total of 200 rides for an extra $500 bonus ($900 total).

For example, if you complete 10 rides, then you will receive a $50 bonus and unlock the next tier. After you complete 40 rides, you will receive an additional $100 bonus.

That will be a total bonus of $150, and you will unlock your next tier.

As an experienced rideshare industry analyst and enthusiast with extensive knowledge in driver incentives and bonus structures, I have delved into the specifics of various ride-hailing platforms, including Lyft's multi-tier bonus programs. My understanding is backed by detailed insights into driver earnings, promotional offers, and the operational mechanisms of Lyft's bonus systems.

The multi-tier bonus system implemented by Lyft is designed to incentivize drivers to complete a specific number of rides within a predetermined timeframe. By successfully meeting these ride requirements, drivers can unlock different bonus tiers, allowing them to earn additional income on top of their regular earnings.

This bonus structure operates on a tiered basis, where each tier corresponds to a set number of completed rides and an associated bonus payout. The tiers escalate in terms of required rides and subsequent bonus amounts. For instance, completing 10 rides may trigger a $50 bonus, while reaching 40 rides could result in an additional $100 bonus, cumulating to a total of $150.

To participate in these multi-tier bonuses, drivers need to adhere to certain guidelines:

  1. Meeting Ride Requirements: Complete the specified number of rides within the stipulated time frame to unlock each tier's bonus.

  2. Entering Promo Code: Use a valid new driver promotion code during the application process to be eligible for the bonus. Failure to input this code during sign-up may result in ineligibility for the promotion.

Lyft's multi-tier bonus structure is not static and may vary based on different criteria, including location, driver status, or specific promotions. Express Drive renters in California, for instance, may have access to different bonuses compared to regular drivers in other regions.

The tracking and distribution of bonuses are facilitated through the Lyft Driver app, where drivers can monitor their progress, see the bonuses earned, and receive them in their weekly earnings summary.

However, it's crucial to note that participation in these bonuses is voluntary, and drivers are not obligated to accept specific ride requests to qualify for these incentives. Furthermore, eligibility and approval for these bonuses are subject to Lyft's discretion and terms of service, with Lyft reserving the right to deny bonuses in cases of suspected fraudulent activities or abuse.

In summary, Lyft's multi-tier bonuses are an attractive incentive for drivers to increase their earnings by completing a specified number of rides within defined timeframes, with bonus payouts varying based on the tiers achieved. These bonuses are subject to specific terms and conditions outlined by Lyft and may be subject to change or suspension at Lyft's discretion.
