How many days in Morocco is enough? ›

Morocco has a lot to offer with its dramatic scenery, colorful markets, and bustling cities. Walking around lively medinas, staying in a Riad, and swimming in azure water are all options. Some people only visit Morocco to stay in Marrakech, but there is so much more to discover.

It is a land of profound historical and cultural importance. A land of endless diversity and constant surprises, a land of Islamic imperial grandeur and old-European elegance. Morocco is a country where the past and present live together in fascinating harmony.

Depending on what you plan to do, you should probably aim to take around £40-£50 per person per day (£280-£300 per week) in Morocco.

You might wonder if Morocco is expensive for travel - but in fact there are a number of budget-friendly ways to get around. It's important to remember, though, that public transport is limited, and so travelling to very remote areas can be more challenging and potentially more expensive.

I have been to both countries. In my opinion, Turkey is much safer and more attractive than Morocco. The heritage, architecture, food and atmosphere are more magical in Turkey. You can sense how much this city is old and holds lots of stories and diversification.

July and August are the hottest months in Morocco so are not the ideal months to visit; however, they should not be ruled out. If you're looking to escape the unpredictable British summers then this is a great time to visit.

While a foreign man or woman can't share with a Moroccan of the opposite sex, no such rule applies to two men even if they're a local and a foreigner. Two foreigners sharing wouldn't be commented on. Stayed a week in southern Morocco in five different kasbahs/riads with my male partner and nobody cares.

Our entire Morocco trip was ten days, spending a total of 3 days in Marrakech, two at the beginning and one at the end of the trip. To me, the time felt sufficient in getting a feel for the city. Of course, more time is always fun, but three is a solid amount. Perfect for a long weekend!
