Michael Bell is a veteran CEO and entrepreneur in the software industry. For the past 20 years Mr. Bell has served as a senior executive and chief executive in early-stage startups through public company executive roles.
Mr. Bell currently leads Infrascale as its President. In this role, Mr. Bell oversees all sales, marketing and finance
operations for Infrascale and its products. Mr. Bell manages all Infrascale staff and operating locations worldwide, including Los Angeles, Ukraine and India.
Prior to Infrascale, Mr. Bell served as president of a leading B2B SaaS company in the logistics industry, 3PL Central. While there Mr. Bell drove rapid growth, doubling revenue in the first year and achieved the company’s first-ever operating profit.
In 2007, Mr. Bell launched Software.com. He took it from a strategic vision and transformed it into a fast-growing operating entity, achieving break-even within its first year of operation. Software.com contains industry-leading content and one of the largest collections of consumer software downloads.
Mr. Bell founded Encore Software and served as its CEO for fourteen years. With an initial capitalization of only $25,000 in 1993, Mr. Bell grew Encore to become one of the top-ten consumer software publishers in North America, with annual revenues of over $50 million. This performance was recognized in 2000 and 2001 by Inc. Magazine, which included Encore Software in its annual list of America's 500 fastest-growing private companies, by the Software Council of Southern California, which voted Mr. Bell CEO of the Year, and by Soft-Letter, which listed Encore Software on its elite list of "Productivity Champions."
As CEO, Mr. Bell guided Encore Software within an extremely competitive, consolidating industry, eventually selling a majority stake in Encore to Navarre Corporation [NASDAQ: NAVR] in August 2002. Mr. Bell continued to lead Encore as an independent publishing entity, through 2007. Today, Encore still publishes some of the industry’s most recognized software brands acquired under Mr. Bell’s leadership including The Print Shop, Monopoly, Reader Rabbit, Spyware Dr.,Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?, Mavis Beacon, Family Tree Maker, Hoyle Card Games and many others.
Michael Bell lives with his wife and two children in Manhattan Beach, California.
