“It’s 2016 and the internet is only going to continue to change the way the real estate industry works. It’s critical that if you want to be a player in this internet game, that you continually work on your website and create killer content.”

This is some advice we got recently when we sat down with New York real estate pro, Kyle Hisco*ck.

Kyle, a long-time LeadSite agent, with his father Keith Hisco*ck were recently named one of the best real estate teams in New York State by RealTrends.

As you can see, Kyle really knows his stuff when it comes to real estate and marketing his business.

We picked Kyle’s brain about blogging to find out how he continues to produce such popular, unique content all while juggling the many, many different hats he wears daily as a busy agent.

So today we’re going to take a look at Kyle’s website and social media pages and find out more about his personal content strategies.

Let’s jump right in!

Kyle’s Blog

Our first question for Kyle was to ask how he comes up with fresh content so consistently.

It’s tough to consistently blog, make videos, and do social media.

Kyle pointed out that oneof the most common reasons why bloggers give up so quickly is because they don’t know what to write about.

How Do You Come Up With Ideas?

“I’m interacting with buyers, sellers, mortgage consultants, home inspectors, and other professionals on a daily basis about a variety of real estate related topics. Through conversations and answering questions, I find out what people want to know about real estate. This is one of the best ways to find new topics to write about for my blog,” he said.

No matter how busy any of us are, this is a pointer we can all take action on.

Navigating the everyday buying and selling processes, the very things we handle each day, is what your audience will most benefit from reading and learning about.

We also wanted to see Kyle’s advice in action, so we had him share with us his most successful blog post.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that his most popular blog post was about real estate agent marketing. Read his post on real estate marketing strategies here.

His article has been shared over 1,300 times acrossPinterest, Facebook, LinkedIN, Google+, and a variety of other social sites.

So, aside from Kyle writing about what he knows, an area that he’s an expert in, what made this post such a success?

What Makes An Article Successful?

Kyle said, “I believe this article has done so well because it provides potential home sellers with an idea of what a top real estate agent should be doing to sell their home. In addition to educating home sellers, it also provides other real estate professionals with some tips that could help give more exposure to their listings and more exposure typically means a quicker sale for more money!”

How does Kyle find the time to write this kind of compelling content?

Here’s what he had to say:

“Being consistent is huge when it comes to blogging.

If you’re planning on starting a blog, my biggest piece of advice is to pick a certain day(s) of the week when you’re going to publish your newest article.

I happen to publish my new articles every Tuesday morning.

Being consistent is very tough at times when it comes to blogging.

Between juggling 40-50 transactions per year, staying active on social media, and writing blogs weekly, there are some weeks that require long hours.

The way I’m able to find the time is because I’ve created a routine and I expect every week that I’ll publish a new article.

If this means staying up till midnight on Monday evening to put the finishing touches on my article, I’ll do it.

Bottom line, I don’t allow myself to create excuses for not writing new content.

I know it’s not going to reap instant results but with enough persistence, over time, it’s going to yield huge results for my business!”

We literally could have not have said it better!

You’ve got to commit to a routine and stick to it.

Let’s take a look at Kyle’s social media profiles.

::: Social Media Case Study :::

Let’s Look At Kyle’sTwitter

Kyle is an absolute rock star on Twitter.

He just hit 6k followers and we guarantee that that number is only going to continue to grow.

Heavy-hitters on this social network are posting anywhere from 14-40 times in a day.

Kyle posts a tweet 2-3 times every hour and is constantly giving his audience fresh, valuable content.

His PinterestProfile:

Folks can also find Kyle dominating on Pinterest.

Of the numbers above, the most impressive one is probably the first.

Kyle either manages or contributes to upwards of 60 Pinterest boards.

That’s an insane amount of potential lead opportunities he’s got every time he pins an original piece of content that will lead folks back to his website.

Group boards are awesome.

Inviting folks to join your boards, or starting to pin on a few of their boards can dramatically increase your exposure on Pinterest.

You’ll be reaching a whole new audience, gaining new followers, increase your number of repins and see a rise in engagement.

And Finally Facebook

Kyle actually has two Facebook pages – one for himself and one with his dadto support their business.

This above post shows Kyle congratulating his clients on their new home.

The post received 48 Likes and 8 comment, which is great.

Notice in the post text that Kyle mentioned the area in which the house was sold and also talked about future renovations the couple hopes to make.

He’s hitting on a lot of important things here in a very readable and engaging way.

His wording is genuine and doesn’t read like a sales pitch at all.

But what his audience now knows is that he’s selling in Irondequoit and deeply cares about his clients.

The new owners also know that they can continue to reach out to Kyle when they begin home renovations.

Here’s a post from the his other page, The Keith Hisco*ck Sold Team.

What catches your attention in the post text?

My guess is that he sold a home in Greece.

Greece, New York probably, but anyone scrolling through their newsfeed is going to stop and take a second look at this post.

His Website

Starting at the top, you’ll see a simple Call To Action for viewers to opt-in for a free home valuation.

On the next line, all of Kyle’s contact information is listed – his phone number and email, as well as all of his social networks.

We’re going to look at 3 of the 5 he has listed in just a bit, but for now let’s focus on why the team is winning with their LeadSite.

Their menu has an option for everything an incoming lead would need.

They’ve got guides, resources for buyers and sellers, testimonials and a contact form, in addition to their home listing options.

When someone lands on your site, they need to find what they’re looking for immediately.

Any hard to find, or hidden information will almost 100% of the time result in a lost lead.

A Landing PageBuilt In

When a seller lead clicks on Sellers on the homepage they’ll be taken to this page.

Keith has used Leadlock to turn this into a landing page.

LeadLock lets you turn any page, post or listing on your website into a landing page instantly. This way, you can use your existing content to gather leads.

You see the #lock at the end of the search address?

That means the page has been locked down and turned into a landing page.

LeadSite clients can also build custom landing pages with our Squeeze app.

Notice how little information Keith is requesting from leads.

I mean, it’s common knowledge that the more extensive the form is, the less likely folks are to follow-through with leaving their info.

Closing thoughts

If you’re ready to dominate the social sphere, here’s Kyle’s top tip for you:

“The biggest piece of advice that I give to agents who ask me about blogging and social media is to be stick with it.

It’s important to realize that when you’re starting out on social media or beginning a new blog that you don’t expect to see a huge number of followers or a ton of traffic to your blog.

Social media and blogging are not something that will yield instant results, they are long term and remember, great things take time!”
