Want to earn extra money quickly with less effort?
Taking surveys is a quick way to earn extra bucks without actually getting a job. You can do it even while watching TV, drinking your morning coffee or just for the fun of sharing your opinion as a consumer.
Back before I started blogging, I used to complete paid surveys in between writing for my clients, when I didn’t feel writing but want to earn a little income, or when I just wanted some entertainment during my downtime as a mom.
While I didn’t do a lot of them, I was paid for the few that I completed and I can say that this is one of the easiest side hustles you can do that doesn’t need a lot of concentration.

But first, a few honest truths about making money with online surveys:
- It will not make you rich and cannot replace a career. To make hundreds through this side hustle, you also have to put in a lot of time.
- Based on my experience, most surveys don’t pay you more than $10 per hour. Although there are some surveys that pay as much as $50, they easily get full so you have to be on the lookout for when they’re open.
- There is also a gazillion of companies that pay you so little, like cents, for a 20-30 minute survey.
- If you are in the US or Canada, you’re in luck as there are many legitimate survey companies you can try. If you are in Puerto Rico like me, you are not eligible to join many companies (Yes, I got rejected many times!)
- There are plenty of scam sites that ask you to pay upfront to join. NEVER EVER pay any money to earn money.
On the flip side, earning hundreds per month is possible only if you dedicate time into it and you only take good-paying surveys. So always check how much a survey is worth before you start one.
