They pushed a kid down the stairs, Glen, on purpose. And they had no remorse. None. I'm worried that they're bad seeds.

— Betty to Glen[src]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom are recurring characters on The CW's Riverdale. Juniper is portrayed by Alix West Lefler. Dagwood is portrayed by Bentley Storteboom.

Juniper and Dagwood are the twins of Polly Cooper and Jason Blossom, with Juniper being the youngest by three minutes.[1] Polly and Jason developed a relationship and began dating during their junior year of high school. However, both the Coopers and the Blossoms opposed the relationship, Hal Cooper more than anyone else due to the secret he was keeping hidden from his family -- that the Coopers and Blossoms are related by blood, thus making Polly and Jason family, third cousins to be exact.[2]

Prior to this discovery, Polly and Jason intended to run away together. Jason sought out FP Jones and the Southside Serpents for help to skip town with Polly, as he needed money and a ride. FP offered him a deal: in exchange for delivering an unspecified amount of drugs for him, he would pay Jason and provide him with a getaway vehicle. And so, on July 4th, Jason would fake his death while out on a boat ride across Sweetwater River with Cheryl. He was to meet with Polly on the other side, however, Jason was kidnapped by FP and later killed by his father whilst Polly was committed into the Sisters of Quiet Mercy group home.[2]

After her escape from the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, the Blossoms take Polly in as their own and throw her a baby shower, where Nana Rose predicted that not only was Polly having twins but that one would be a boy and one would be a girl.[3]

Throughout Riverdale[]

Season 2[]

Clifford's Will-reading[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (1)

Juniper and Dagwood are born whilst their mother, Polly, is entangled with the Farm.[4] Polly returns to Riverdale with her babies after learning of Clifford Blossom's passing and his upcoming will-reading, where Juniper and Dagwood meet both sides of their family for the first time and are taken for a walk along Sweetwater River by Chic. However, Polly doesn't stay long, deciding shortly after the will-reading to move to San Francisco.[5]

Moving Back Home[]

Polly returns with Riverdale with Juniper and Dagwood after learning of their father's arrest for his killings as the Black Hood. During this time, they are watched over by Betty and Jughead.[6]

Season 3[]

Sacrificed by the Farm?[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (2)

Betty comes downstairs, calling out to her mom and Polly. She heads onto the back porch, where she finds Alice and Polly, along with several other members of the Farm, holding Juniper and Dagwood over a fire. They let the twins go into the fire. However, instead of falling in, Juniper and Dagwood float above the flames. Betty then collapses. She begins convulsing and is unresponsive to Alice's calls to her.[7] When Betty awakens the following morning, Polly and Alice insists that the babies are fine and that Betty was hallucinating.[8]

Adopted by the Farm[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (3)

After learning from Toni that Edgar intends to adopt the twins after his marriage to Alice, Betty devises a plan to rescue Juniper and Dagwood with help from Penelope. Together, Penelope and Betty infiltrate the Farm's compound, where Penelope negotiated the freedom of Dagwood. She gets the boy, but the Farm will keep Juniper. Those were the only terms they would agree to despite Penelope's threats to come after the Farm. Betty explains that they're twins and that they shouldn't be separated. Furthermore, Edgar isn't their father. But, as Penelope points out, Polly is their mother, meaning it's her decision. Penelope remarks that it was a miracle that they were even able to get one child, referring to Dagwood as Jason Jr.

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (4)

With help from Toni, Betty sneaks into the Farm's compound to kidnap Juniper. However, after retrieving Juniper, Betty is led straight into a trap by Toni, who has succumbed to the Farm's allure. She quickly finds herself surrounded by Farmies. Betty reveals to her mother that Edgar is already married to Evelyn, but Alice is well aware, explaining that there are no secrets at the Farm. They've all come together to get Betty to join them. Everyone Betty cares about is in the room, her mother, sister, best friend, cousin and sister. In unison, the Farmies recite "Join us." If only for a second, it seems that Betty begins to consider the offer, but she declines it nonetheless and takes off running, with Toni, Cheryl, Kevin, Evelyn, and the other Farmies just behind her. Betty just barely makes it to her car and pulls off.[9]

Saved by Alice and Cheryl[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (5)

With Juniper in hand, Alice enters Cheryl's room at the compound claiming that she’s there to help. Alice leads Cheryl into the tunnels headed for Fox Forest. The tunnels had initially been closed, but Edgar opened them back up after purchasing the compound. Alice hands Juniper over to Cheryl and tells her to reunite her with Dagwood. Alice isn’t coming. She has to stay behind to protect Polly, but she makes Cheryl promise that she’ll find Betty to make sure she’s safe from the Farm and her father. Alice sees Cheryl out, telling her to keep running until she makes it into town. Cheryl eventually makes it back to Thistlehouse, where she hands the baby off to Nana Rose.[10]

Season 4[]

Cursed by the Ghost of Julian[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (6)

Juniper and Dagwood have taken up residence at Thistlehouse with Cheryl and Nana Rose. On July 4th, they attend the Independence Day parade along with Cheryl, Nana Rose, and Toni.[11]

After Cheryl attempts to skip another day of school, Toni confronts her. Cheryl can't bring herself to leave Nana Rose and the twins alone with Julian. She only agrees to go to school after ensuring Nana Rose and the twins' safety by circling Julian with a barrier of salt ,as it’s believed to prevent evil spirits from crossing over. However, they later discover that an accident has occurred at Thistlehouse. Dagwood swallowed a ping pong ball and started to choke. He was taken to the hospital, where Dr. Sapirstein performed a tracheotomy. He is doing well now, and Nana Rose is waiting at the hospital with Juniper for Cheryl.[12]

Season 5[]

Returning to the Cooper Household[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (7)

Juniper and Dagwood sit at the dinning room table doing arts and crafts while Alice and Polly argue over Polly's decision not to attend Pop Tate's retirement party. Polly claims that she has to work, but Betty reveals that Polly no longer works at the Roving Eye and that she’s been hanging out with the Ghoulies. She asks how exactly is Polly making her money, which she uses to help out with the twins and pay the mortgage. She wonders if Polly is dealing or tricking, but Polly says that it’s none of her concern, especially since Betty deserted them.[13]

Betty comes downstairs to find her Juniper and Dagwood creating macaroni art Alice. Betty then gets a call from Sheriff Keller, who informs Betty that they’ve found another body down at Swedlow Swamp.[14]

Chic and Charles' Wedding[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (8)

While preparing Juniper and Dagwood’s birthday cakes, Betty and Alice get a call from the school and learn that the twins were involved in an incident, in which they supposedly pushed one of their classmates down a set of stairs. Dagwood reveals that their classmate, Jerry, said that their mother was dead, so they pushed him in response. Alice explains that Jerry has a concussion and broke his shoulder. Betty warns the twins that he could’ve died, but they appear unfazed.

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (9)

While celebrating Juniper and Dagwood’s birthday, the Coopers receive an unexpected visit from Charles and Chic, who escaped the Lodge Detention Center. Charles and Chic take a seat next to the twins at the table while Betty and Alice gather the food. Charles and Chic would like to be married with their family present. Charles had Alice get ordained online a while back, so she can officiate. Alice officiates the marriage in the living room. Not far off stands Betty, Juniper, and Dagwood. Glen stops by unexpectedly and is held at gunpoint. Betty realizes that this must be the reason behind Glen's dissertation of her family. Since Glen is so interested in what makes a serial killer tick, Charles suggests they play a game called "Pincushion Man," where the youngest member of a family takes a pin and sticks it in the pincushion man. With Juniper being the youngest by three minutes, Chic hands her a large kitchen knife and tells her to stick it in the Pincushion Man. Betty begs Charles to show restraint. Juniper is only nine years old and this will scar her for the rest of her life. Charles concedes and says that Betty must take her turn.[1]

Polly's Death[]

Following their mother's death, the twins are taken in for a few days by Cheryl. She told Juniper and Dagwood that their mother is some place beautiful and close by. They even hung up a hummingbird feeder in the rose garden. Later that week, they attend their mother's funeral.[15]

Season 6[]

The serial killer gene[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (10)

Juniper and Dagwood are playing with the new family pet, a cat named Butterscotch that Alice brought home for them. However, when Betty notices Dagwood's aura glowing after mentioning how much fun they're going to have playing with his tail, Betty takes the cat to safety, claiming that she's simply taking Butterscotch for a checkup. The following day, Betty takes Juniper and Dagwood to Dr. Curdle Jr., who tests them for the serial killer gene. To Betty's surprise, Juniper has the gene while Dagwood does not.[16]

Toni and Fangs' wedding[]

Juniper and Dagwood attend Toni and Fangs' wedding at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe and their wedding reception at the Whyte Wyrm, where many of the attendees, including Toni and Fangs, fall victims to Percival's final plague, which is the death of all firstborns, including Dagwood.[17]

Dagwood moves on to the Sweet Hereafter following the death of all firstborns. There, he reunites with his mother and father. Before long, they're found by Cheryl, who performs a ritual to bring them all back.[18]

The comet[]

Juniper and Dagwood Blossom (11)

As Bailey's Comet nears Riverdale, Juniper and Dagwood spend their final moments with their family, staring out the window as the comet comes hurtling towards the town.[19]

Season 7[]

Rebirth[]

As a result of Tabitha Tate sending Riverdale back in time to 1955, Jason was erased from existence.[20] Juniper and Dagwood would not be born for several more years; Polly is still their mother, but their father is her new husband, Langley Huggles.[21]

Physical Appearance[]

Juniper and Dagwood take after their father's side of the family. Like many Blossoms, they have red hair and pale skin. They're also twins, a trait that's rather common within the Blossom bloodline.

Personality[]

For the most part, Juniper and Dagwood seem no different than the average child. They're generally happy and often do arts and craft. However, they have begun to show a darker side after pushing a student from school down a flight of stairs. Their lack of remorse for the child has started to concern both Alice and Betty.
