2024 Real estate crowdfunding income: $821
Real estate crowdfunding is a new way to invest in real estate. I started investing in real estate crowdfunding in 2017 because I didn’t want to be a landlord anymore. My goal is to increase our investment to $200,000 by 2025. This should generate around $10,000 of passive income per year.
Unfortunately, real estate investors have taken a hit since the pandemic began. For now, I’ve put a hold on investing more with real estate crowdfunding. Apartments are still solid investments, but other commercial real estate properties are risky.

It’s been a slow year so far.

Real estate projects 2023
- CrowdStreetWashington apartment– This is a project in Puget Sound. They seem to be doing quite well.
- CrowdStreetChicago office building– The property is under renovation at this time.
- CrowdStreetSenior housing– This is a fund to invest in senior living facilities. This project had a capital call earlier this year. I sent in $3,000. They seem to be doing well.
- CrowdStreetNC apartment– This is a project in North Carolina.
- An apartment in Arizona– The borrower refinanced this project and returned 75% of the money invested. Now, we’ll wait until the project completes and collect the rest of the income.

Real estate crowdfunding has been an excellent investment for us. I plan to increase our investment substantially over the next few years. There is still a big housing shortage across the U.S. so apartments should perform well for many years. Here are the real estate crowdfunding companies that I’m working with.
