1. MONEY : If you want to invest in the stock market then it is obvious that you must have money.
2. DEMAT ACCOUNT : This account is very important for doing trading as securities will be held in this account. To open demat account you can approach to a registered broker or bank . These days nearly all banks provide this facility. They will charge nominal amount for this.
3. ONLINE TRADING ACCOUNT : This is the account through which you will do the trading of securities . You can approach to a registered broker or bank for opening trading account.

2. Register as client/ Investor on the stock brokers website.
3. Fill the application form and client - broker agreement form on the requisite stamp paper.
4. After filling the forms mentioned above you have to obtain user ID and password.
5. Log on to the broker's site using user ID and password.
6. Market watch page will show real time online market data to you.
7. You can trade shares directly entering the number or symbol of the security.
8. Broker's server will check your limit in the online account and demat account for the number of shares and then it executes the trade.
9. Order is executed immediately and confirmation can be obtained.
10. Confirmation is done by the broker by sending an e-mail to the investor.
11. After that contract note is printed and mailed to the investor within 24 hours.
12. Settlement of the transactions is done automatically on the settlement day .
13. Demat account and bank account will get debited and credited by electronic means.
