How to stream NFL RedZone in 2023: We’ll make it easy (2024)

If you’re looking to catch NFL RedZone this Sunday to watch the week’s best game highlights, it’s never been easier. You don’t even need a cable or satellite TV subscription. We’ll show you all your options.

NFL RedZone is finally available without device restrictions through an NFL+ Premium subscription, which means you can watch the whip-around action not just on phones and tablets, but also on smart TVs and streaming dongles like Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Roku, and the like (here’s where you’ll find our media streamer top picks).

Here are the three ways to get NFL RedZone without cable:

Get NFL RedZone by itself

Sign up for NFL+ Premium to get NFL RedZone on a standalone basis. The service costs $15 per month or $80 per year. (NFL RedZone only airs for four months, so the monthly option is cheaper–provided you remember to cancel when the regular season ends.)

After subscribing to NFL+ Premium, you can watch NFL RedZone through the NFL app on Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Xbox consoles, Android devices, iPhones, and iPads.

NFL+ includes some other benefits as well: You can watch any game live on phones and tablets, listen to live game audio, watch a live stream of the NFL Network channel on all devices, and watch on-demand video from NFL Films. The Premium tier, which is required to get NFL RedZone, also includes replays of all regular season games—both full and condensed—which become available after the live telecast is over.

Be aware that neither NFL+ nor NFL+ Premium let you watch live games on your TV, except for the handful of games that are exclusive to the NFL Network.

Who it’s for: If you’re able to watch local and national games with an over-the-air antenna (read our top picks), NFL+ Premium is the cheapest and best option for supplementing that coverage with live look-ins from around the league. It might even be an acceptable substitute for NFL Sunday Ticket if you don’t need full access to every out-of-market game.

Add NFL RedZone to your TV streaming bundle

If you subscribe to a live TV streaming service such as Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, or DirecTV, you can add NFL RedZone to that package. In most cases, it will be included with a sports an extra-cost add-on package. Here’s a roundup of those options and their total costs, including whatever add-on you need for NFL RedZone:

  • Sling TV Blue: $51 per month with Sling Blue and Sports Extra; $70 per month with Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Sports Extra. (Note that Sling does not carry CBS and lacks local channels outside of some major cities.)
  • YouTube TV: $84 per month with Sports Plus add-on.
  • Hulu + Live TV$87 per month with the Sports add-on.
  • Vidgo: $85 per month in the “Plus” tier.
  • DirecTV Stream: $90 per month with Sports Pack add-on.
  • FuboTV: $97 per month, including regional sports fees and Sports Plus add-on. (The regional sports fee might be higher in some markets.)

Who it’s for: This route is for users who want NFL RedZone along with a big bundle of cable and broadcast channels, but don’t need NFL Sunday Ticket’s out-of-market games.

Get NFL RedZone with NFL Sunday Ticket

In 2023, NFL Sunday Ticket has moved from DirecTV over to YouTube, with RedZone as an optional add-on. These RedZone feeds are now hosted by Scott Hanson; former DirecTV RedZone host Andrew Siciliano is out.

We have a separate article breaking down YouTube’s various Sunday Ticket options, but here’s the gist:

  • NFL Sunday Ticket via YouTube: Watch all out-of-market games for $449, discounted to $399 through September 19. Given how deep into the season we are, YouTube is offering the service for $119.
  • NFL Sunday Ticket with YouTube TV: Watch all local, national, and out-of-market games (except Amazon Prime’s Thursday exclusives). YouTube TV alone costs $73 per month, and bundling NFL Sunday Ticket costs an extra $349 for the season, discounted to $299 though September 19. The most current price is $89 for the rest of the season.

In both cases, NFL RedZone is a $40 add-on for the season, and you can sign up for any of these packages through YouTube’s website. Verizon customers can also save more on NFL Sunday Ticket, although some caveats apply.

Who it’s for: Bundling NFL RedZone with NFL Sunday Ticket makes sense if you primarily want live access to out-of-market NFL games, but also want RedZone’s whip-around coverage.

One last reminder: If you’re already paying for NFL RedZone through your cable bundle, you can stream the channel for free through the NFL app on phones, tablets, and TV devices.

To do so, you’ll need to find the “TV provider” login option. The mobile app makes this option needlessly difficult to find, perhaps in hopes that some folks just give up and pay for NFL+. Don’t be one of them.

In the NFL mobile app: After dismissing any annoying splash screens, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner. Scroll down to “Connected Accounts,” then select “Connect” next to “TV Provider.” Choose your provider from the list, then enter your login credentials.

In the NFL app for TVs: Dismiss the obnoxious NFL+ sign-up prompt. Scroll down to the ⚙️ gear icon, select “TV and streaming providers,” click “Sign in with TV provider,” and choose your provider from the list.

Now, you can stream NFL RedZone without any additional subscriptions. You’ll also be able to watch local and nationally televised games without an NFL+ subscription.
