How do you hire staff for a restaurant in Sims 4? ›

Click the Manage Employees button in the Ownership panel and hire your staff. You'll need at least one Chef, one Host, and one Waiter. You can technically hire higher skilled staffers, but they'll cost more, which might be a financial burden on your new Restaurant.

To hire a new employee, go to your store lot and select the Store Panel. The button you need is the small round one on the top row, second from the left. At first you can only select one employee. All possible applicants will be listed along with their requisite Skills.

It just means that it's a community lot that doesn't have a specific purpose, and as such won't be visited by NPCs, townies, and other Sims. It can be useful if you want to build a community lot where you don't want your Sims to be disturbed.

In your restaurant you can add a bar and if you own it you can click the bar while it is open and select 'Hire Bartender' and one will come or bartend yourself, but you will not make any money from those drinks if others drink them (unless you drag them to 'sell' in build mode to sell them).

You can hire a caterer through the stove instead with 'hire staff'.
