Psst. Hey, buddy. You wanna see your MTG Arena win-loss ratio?

I bet you would, but to the dismay of us players, Wizards of the Coast has elected to leave stats such as this out of the picture on MTG Arena. This was probably hidden from sight by virtue of the psychology of repetitive or excessive loss. Players could be discouraged seeing a disproportionately negative win-loss ratio and stop investing their time and effort into the game.

Regardless, you’re probably here because you want to know how to view your win ratio, and it's not on your Arena profile like you might expect. Whether it be to examine the way a deck has performed for you or just out of pure curiosity. Fortunately, curiosity inspires persistence. Owing to that, I have discovered and created ways to uncover the coveted win-loss ratio. Onward!

There are two ways to go about uncovering your spell-slinging skill level. On one hand, we’ve got a painless and swift means of showing your stats through Arena Tutor, which we highly recommend you make use of. No biases here.

On the other side of the river lies the classic means of accessing your info, which requires rummaging through the player log created by MTG Arena as you play the game. Both of these methods require detailed logging to be turned on in MTG Arena. If you’ve got that set up, let’s go ahead and get through the “classic” method of retrieving this info first.

The Original Method: Finding Your Win Rate Manually Via Log Files

The first means of acquiring player data from MTG Arena used to be uncovering the player log that the game creates as you play, and from there looking through the egregiously massive wall of text to find your win ratio. This was originally accomplished by flipping through some folders, which was pretty easy. The directory would’ve looked something like:

c/users/(username)/appdata/locallow/wizards of the coast/mtga/output_log.txt

Once you had that open, it was a matter of searching for the words “constructed” or “limited” and looking around there to find your games won and lost. This method has slightly changed, so let’s go over it:

1. Type %appdata% in your file explorer to open the AppData/Roaming file path

These stats belong to our editor, I swear!

Now, that can be a lot of text to sift through, and it can be a hassle to do this process every time you wanna see your games won and lost. Thankfully, there’s more than one way to verb a noun. Let’s take a peek at a much easier way to find what you’re looking for.

The Easy Way: Using Arena Tutor

Arena Tutor makes the process of reviewing your win ratio and deck stats absurdly easy. And, best of all, it’s free! The app automatically tracks your matches and keeps an accurate record of your wins and losses down to the deck.

So not only can you view your overall ratio of wins to losses, but you can also view the win ratio of each deck respectively. If that’s not enough, you can also see your win rate for a certain deck after each revision.

All you have to do to access the information is install the app. That’s it! Once you’ve done that, it’s super easy to locate your stats.

First, you’ll open the app to find the lobby screen. Arena Tutor keeps track of and compares the win rates of all of your decks and even shows which of your cards are putting in the most work across your collection.

If you’re in search of your overall stats for both constructed and limited ranked playlists, just head over to the Profile page. You’ll find it at the top of the Arena Tutor window perched to the right of the “Decks” icon. This page presents your rank, win percentage, number of games won and lost, and even your vault progress!

Back to the “Decks” page, go ahead and select one of your decks. You’ll see the list of cards included in that deck as well as some stats for it. To the top right is the deck’s overall win rate as well as its win rate since the last change you made to it. Towards the bottom of the window, you’ll find a list of win rates associated with different versions of the deck you’ve selected. And if you click the little plus sign by each version of the deck, you can see the changes you made to it that may have resulted in a shift in the win rate of the deck. Now ain’t that nifty?
