A Fund Accountant is a finance professional responsible for the day-to-day accounting for investment portfolios within mutual, institutional and hedge funds or commodities, securities or real estate.
Tasks and duties
Managing the fund’s cash flow, measuring risk, evaluating fund activity and helping with investor requirements.
Identify risks and inefficiencies, and create and employ new strategies to improve the fund’s value
Prepare reports on the fund’s status as required (e.g. quarterly and annually).
Fund Accountants are different from other Accountants because they possess extensive knowledge of investments and the funds market.Fund Accountants are detail-oriented individuals with excellent communication skills who track a fund’s value by collaborating with investors, management, stakeholders and other teams related to the administration of the fund.
