How long should you replace Apple Router? (2024)

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Hi guys!

Today I found out my modem is end of life cycle from Comcast which I sorta figure it out since it has been 3 years or so. I am gonna buy a new modem, but the question now is I got my Apple time Capsule the same time as modem and it is 3 years old too. Should I replace the router as well? or the router can last longer than that?

Thanks for all the help.

Comcast will replace your modem for free.

As far as your Time Capsule, that's a Wi-Fi router. Life expectancy is difficult to guess but I keep a spare AirPort Extreme just in case the one I've had for three years decides to retire.
