Withdrawing money from your Smart portfolio works the same way as withdrawing from any other Stash portfolio. It can be done in the app or online. When you withdraw funds, you can choose to transfer them to your Stash banking account1 or your external bank account.
Follow these steps to withdraw money from your Smart Portfolio:
Note: If you have Auto-Stash turned on for your Smart Portfolio, you must turn it off before you initiate your transfer.
- Login to Stash.
- Click Transfer.
- Select Smart Portfolio as your From account.
- Select your To account.
- Enter the amount you want to transfer.
- Click Confirm (web) or Continue (app).
- Click Make Transfer (web) or Transfer (app).
Please note: Investment sales are required to satisfy your withdrawal request and may take up to two business days to complete and settle. It may take up to three additional business days for the funds to appear in your bank account.
New deposits made in your account while your withdrawal request is processing may cause both your withdrawal request and your deposit(s) to take longer to process. Actual transfer amount might vary slightly depending on market fluctuations. If the withdrawal request is rejected, we will hold the withdrawn amount of cash in the Stash Account for 5 business days. You may retry the withdrawal request within this time period. If the withdrawal is unsuccessful, funds will be reinvested into the Stash Account.
DISCLOSURES
This type of account is a Discretionary Managed Account. This is an individual taxable brokerage account that Stash has full authority to manage according to a specific investment mandate.
