What to reply when someone says I'm home? ›

So, “Fine, what about you?” or “Can't complain. How are you?” or “Oh, you know, same as ever. How are you?” or “So far so good, and you?” — anything like that will do.

Yes, it is correct. But it has a slightly different usage/intent than the standard phrase I'm at home or I'm home. Generally when we want to say we are not out and about, we say I'm home. (I'm home - not away, not out in the street, not at work, and I will likely stay here a while).
