| Hidden packages have returned in the PS4 / Xbox One editions of GTA 5, though they do not immediately appear in their specified locations. To find these briefcases, go the their location then quick-save the game. Immediately re-load that save and the package will have spawned in the specified location. |
There are 12 Hidden Packages spread throughout the waters in GTA 5. Each briefcase contains a hefty amount of cash that can be collected many times. Eleven of the cases are hidden underwater near crashed objects such as ships, planes, automobiles, and even boats.
The briefcase can be reached by either taking the Dinghy or Minisub and equipping the complimentary Scuba diving gear.
The GTA 5 Interactive Map is a Google-style map anyone can edit or add to. It includes Collectibles, Stunt Jumps and much, much more. And it works on phones and tablets!
Hidden Packages Locations
Eleven of the twelve Hidden Packages are located under water, so players will need scuba gear in order to obtain them. The 12 locations are listed below.
PALETO COVE BRIEFCASE ($12,000)
This case is sitting on the ocean floor in front of a detached airplane tail. Be aware that the other half of the plane is located farther down from the tail, hence you might find the plane wreckage first.
NORTH CHUMASH BRIEFCASE ($12,500)

This case is located inside another plane wreck. Swim under the plane to enter it's belly. The case is sitting inside along with a few Submarine parts.
ZANCUDO BRIEFCASE ($9,000)
This case is located on the top of a wrecked ship. This particular ship has several weapons pick ups and a few Submarine parts as well.
PACIFIC BLUFFS BRIEFCASE ($25,000)
This case contains the most amount of cash out of all the Hidden Packages, so you may want to keep coming back to collect this one often. The case is sitting on top of a wrecked submarine just near the entrance hatch.
LOS SANTOS DOCKS BRIEFCASE ($11,000)
The case is located inside a wrecked tanker ship just south of the LS Docks. Swim inside the wreckage to find the case sitting on the ocean floor.
BANNING BRIEFCASE ($7,500)

This case is the easiest to find without the need to equip any Scuba gear. The case is located on top of a wrecked container bed just below the surface.
MURRIETA FIELDS BRIEFCASE ($16,500)
This case is sitting on the ocean floor underneath another plane wreckage. Swim to the left side (right wing of the TAIL, not main wing) of the plane to find the package.
PALOMINO HIGHLANDS BRIEFCASE ($7,000)
This case is located in the middle of the peninsula at Palomino Highlands. The case is sitting on the ocean floor on the right side of a wrecked steamer ship (look for a large circular wheel).
TATAVIAM MOUNTAINS BRIEFCASE ($20,000)
This case contains the second highest amount to collect. The case is located just near a landmass and is inside an exploded ship. Swim towards the area where the explosion happened to find the case.
RON WINDS ALTERNATE BRIEFCASE ($10,000)
This case is located far, far down the ocean floor and is inside a crashed military truck. There are other military vehicles like sunken trucks and Rhino tanks in this area as well, hence you may run into those first.

PALETO BAY BRIEFCASE ($8,000)
The last underwater case is located in the shark-infested waters of eastern Paleto Bay. The case is sitting on the ocean floor under a wrecked crop duster. Be aware that the crop duster plane is difficult to identify because it looks like a rock formation. Use the Submarine part as an indicator of where to find the crop duster or you'll get lost and crowded with sharks!
ALTRUIST CAMP BRIEFCASE ($25,000 x4)
These Hidden Packages can only be obtained at the Altruist camp after Trevor delivers four victims. During the shootout, there will be FOUR briefcases that show up in the camp with $25,000 each! Be sure to take both because this will be the ONLY time these packages spawn!
