Help (2024)

Overview
This section of the Portfolio screen displays brokerage, eligible mutual fund, and stock compensation plan accounts that an account owner has authorized you to access. This section of the screen displays after you select Show Other Accounts.
To temporarily hide your authorized accounts, select Hide Other Accounts.
Note that:
- If more than one account owner has authorized you to access his or her accounts, you will see all accounts for all account owners listed together under the Authorized Accounts section of the Portfolio screen
- If the account owner has authorized you to access his or her accounts that are other than brokerage, eligible mutual fund, or Equity compensation plans, you will not see these accounts listed under Authorized Accounts, but you may access them through other means such as calling a Fidelity representative
There are four levels of account authorization an account owner can grant. If the account owner gives you:
- Inquiry authorization, you can view balances, positions, orders, history, and features, as well as download tax forms.
You can view cost basis tax information for brokerage accounts that are 1099-reportable.
You can view stock compensation plan accounts including information about stock option plan or Employee Stock Purchase Plan positions and history.
You can also customize the accounts, assign a name and hide zero-balance positions. Only you will see the custom changes that you make. Note that you cannot name or hide stock stock option brokerage accounts.
You cannot view or access charitable gift or Fidelity NetBenefitsSM accounts.
- Limited Trading authorization, you have all of the Inquiry privileges plus you can update cost basis information, place trade orders for stocks, fixed-income securities, mutual funds, and options (if eligible), and attempt to cancel or cancel and replace orders that you or the account owner place.
You cannot place orders online during the Premarket or After Hours Extended Hours trading sessions or attempt to cancel or cancel and replace these orders online.
You cannot place orders to exercise and hold or exercise and sell stock options.
Orders for options or orders on margin can only be placed if the account owner has an Option Agreement or Margin Agreement on file with Fidelity.
- Full Trading authorization, you have all of the Limited Trading privileges.
In addition to the privileges you have online on Fidelity.com, you may have the ability to perform other account actions (e.g., move money using Fidelity Electronic Funds Transfer). To take actions on the account that are not permitted online, call a Fidelity representative at 800-544-6666.
- Power of Attorney authorization, you have all of the Full Trading privileges.
In addition to the privileges you have online on Fidelity.com, you have the same access to the account as the account owner. To take actions on the account that are not permitted online, contact a Fidelity representative at 800-544-6666.
An account owner can give someone Inquiry authorization on Fidelity.com. To give any of the other account authorizations, the account owner must complete a form. The form can be obtained from the Customer Service tab Find a Form option on Fidelity.com, by contacting a Fidelity representative at 800-544-6666, or from the Fidelity Investment centers.
