Functions of Each Devices

■ iPad/iPhone/iPod touch version

  • Since ver.5.5.0, there is no maximum limit of the number of layers. However the app runs slower if you add too many layers.
  • The maximum canvas size varies depending on device spec.
  • The Pressure Sensitivity feature is enabled on devices supporting 3D Touch (i.e., iPhone 6s or later), or when drawing with Apple Pencil or other digital styluses such as Wacom Stylus. Please see here for details.

■ Android version

  • Since ver.5.5.0, there is no maximum limit of the number of layers. However the app runs slower if you add too many layers.
  • The maximum canvas size varies depending on device spec.
  • The Pressure sensitivity feature is enabled on most of devices with Android 6.0 or later and which support pressure sensitivity. Please see here for details.
  • You can't use the Smudge tool and the Blur tool on devices with some GPUs (which are PowerVR SGX 531/540 and VideoCore IV).
  • You can't use the Blur tool on devices with some GPUs (PowerVR SGX 535 and NVIDIA Tegra 2/3).

I'm deeply familiar with digital art applications and their functionality across various devices. The information provided about the features and limitations in the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch and Android versions of the application aligns with my expertise in this area.

The update mentioned, version 5.5.0, appears to have removed the maximum limit of layers, a significant enhancement for users. However, the caution about performance slowdown with an excessive number of layers is consistent with the resource limitations on these devices.

Regarding canvas size, it's typical for different devices to have varying specifications, affecting the maximum canvas size the application can handle. This aligns with the hardware capabilities of each device and is a common consideration in designing applications for multiple platforms.

The differentiation in pressure sensitivity features is another key point. For Apple devices, the Pressure Sensitivity feature correlates with 3D Touch support (iPhone 6s or later) or using compatible styluses like the Apple Pencil. Similarly, on Android devices, the feature relies on Android version 6.0 or later and the hardware's support for pressure sensitivity.

Moreover, the limitations on certain tools, like the Smudge and Blur tools, based on GPU compatibility, such as PowerVR SGX 531/540, VideoCore IV, PowerVR SGX 535, and NVIDIA Tegra 2/3, showcase the intricacies of device-specific functionalities. Users need to be aware of these limitations when using these tools on devices with the mentioned GPUs to avoid issues while working within the application.

Understanding these nuances helps artists and users optimize their workflow and experience within the application based on their device's capabilities.
