How do I send a wire transfer?
To send a wire transfer, you need to visit your local branch and provide the following information about the recipient's account:
- Account holder name and full address
- Account number
- Branch number and full address
- Institution number
- Swift Code / BIC / IBAN code
- Routing Number (international)
(Swift stands for Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication. It is a unique identification code for both financial and non-financial institutions, used for International as well as Canadian wire payments.)
A wire transfer takes approximately 3-5 business days to be processed. Transfer cost is between $30-$80, depending on the currency and amount, and may also be subject to a fee by the receiving bank, as well as any intermediary banks.
