Five Ways I'm Walking In Grace – Well-Watered Women (1)

Walk In Grace. It sounds nice. But what does it really mean?

I think walking in grace is all about recognition followed by application. We have to have an open heart to recognize the graces God has given us – both the ultimate grace of forgiveness through salvation, and the subtle graces of goodness He’s placed in our lives.

But once we realize those graces, we walk in them by acting in obedience and responding in love. We praise God by extending grace to others. We do this practically and tangibly as a way of expressing gratitude and glory to God!

So I wanted to share a list of 5 practical ways I’m walking in grace this summer, and I’d love for you to join me. I’d love to hear any ways you are planning to apply this practice in your own life! You can share below in the comments.

  1. This summer I want to spend time with Jesus throughout the day, not just for a few minutes in the morning.
Practicing presence with Jesus is a grace – and to spend time throughout the day is one way I want to walk in that grace. I plan to do this by listening to worship music, praying as I run errands, journaling in the afternoon, reading my Bible in the morning, and memorizing Scripture with my Be Still memory journal.
  2. I’m scheduling in some margin.
Time to love and serve is a grace from the Lord. I’ve seen myself overcommit my time month after month this year, and when a friend calls to grab a last-minute lunch or when someone needs help with their little ones, I find myself regretfully saying no because I’m overbooked. So I’m scheduling in some margin.
  3. I’m going to read some books.
Growth is a grace from the Lord. I’ve bought a handful of great books that have been highly recommended that then sit and gather dust on a table or shelf. I’ve told myself reading is a gift I can’t enjoy while there’s work to be done — but this summer, I’m making time in the morning to read a chapter or two and enjoy the slower pace. This includes the book of Colossians which we’ll begin reading through together a week from today! (You can find the Walk In Grace journal here).I am also planning to read Full by Asheritah Cuicui and You Are Free by Rebekah Lyons.
  4. I’m signing off Instagram after dinner.
My husband is a grace of Jesus in my life – and I want to spend more time looking in his eyes and having intentional conversation rather than scrolling through Instagram mindlessly.
  5. I’m writing notes once a week to a friend to send some encouragement.
I’ve been given grace by Jesus in the way He’s provided friendship and community – so I’m going to appreciate that grace by sending some encouragement to those dear friends. Hebrews 13:3 is the heart behind the Today Collectionin the LLB Shop – to encourage one another as long as it is today. After all, we’re not promised tomorrow.

How will you walk in grace this summer?
