Fidelity Instant Deposit: How Does It Work?
Fidelity currently does not offer instant deposit of cash into your brokerage account.
But here is the good news. When you initiate a deposit from your bank account to your Fidelity account, the amount will be reflected immediately as unsettled cash or Cash Available to Trade.
You can use this unsettled cash to start trading. However, you can’t sell the securities until the money has been settled. Otherwise, a Good Faith Violation will be triggered.
How Long Does It Take To Deposit Money Into a Fidelity Account?
When you deposit money from your bank account to your Fidelity account, it usually takes 2-6 business days. But in most cases, it shouldn’t take that long. On average, 2-3 days.
Instant deposit on Fidelity works similar to Robinhood. You can use the money to buy and sell stocks right away, but you can’t sell until the cash has fully arrived in your brokerage account.

I don’t know anything about Robinhood. But I can request a transfer via Fidelity app from my bank and buy funds/stocks immediately. It takes a couple days to “settle” but it let’s you transact immediately.

Is it normal for instant cash for trading to not always be available? Usually I can buy stocks right away after initiating a deposit, but right now there is none available.

Some stocks only allow settled cash trade. Others will let you buy without having to wait 3-5 days for the funds to settle.

What Josh said. But if it’s just not showing up as cash available to trade, try refreshing or logging out and back in. I’ve had deposits take a few minutes sometimes. Also make sure you didn’t deposit to the wrong account. I’ve done that before.
