ETIAS requirements for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina

As of 2025, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will need to apply for an ETIAS Italy. This is an electronic travel authorisation that will be available for all current visa-exempt travellers to the Schengen area.

To obtain an ETIAS Italy, the purpose of the travel must be tourism, leisure, or short business trips.

Bosnian and Herzegovinian citizens who wish to study, work, or reside in Italy must continue to apply for a consular visa through the Italian embassy or consulate. ETIAS Italy is a visa waiver and cannot be used for these purposes.
