Meet the owner of ShopMieux

I was so intrigued by this concept that I reached out to Kelsey Nicole, the owner of ShopMieuxto find out more. Here are some excerpts from our interview:

How did you get started?

”I began selling my used clothes on eBay in 2009 when I was 18 years old. I was about to graduate from high school and I needed a way of paying for college. Selling my own clothes turned into helping sell my friend’s clothes. I would spend most of my afternoons at Goodwills & Salvation Armys going through each women’s apparel item. Most days I would come up with nothing & others would be a Yves Saint Laurent wool peacoat, circa 1980s purchased for $16 kind of afternoon. I listed it on eBay with a starting bid of $0.99 & it sold for $900 3 days later.”

Walk us through a typical purchase of clothing.

” Selling to us is incredibly simple for our customers, we do mostly all of the work. You can request a pre-paid wardrobe bag online. They will receive it in the mail in 2-3 days. Just fill it up with your gently used, damage-free clothing & accessories. You can drop it off at their local post office or request a free in-home pickup from USPS. Once their items come into our warehouse, each item is carefully examined by our team of expert buyers. You’ll receive a buying offer in your e-mail which includes a list of items that we can/cannot accept along with the exact prices that we can buy them for. Once you accept your buying offer, your cash will be sent to you via PayPal or you can choose theShopMieux store credit option to earn 25% more!”

What are some brands that sell like hotcakes right now?

“Our customers are always looking for Free People, Michael Kors, Zara, French Connection, & Alice + Olivia. & Whenever we get anything Tory Burch, it sells within a few hours!”

How much can a seller make with ShopMieux?

“A seller can expect to receive 25% in cash of the price that we can sell their items or 50% in ShopMieux store credit of the price that we can sell their items for. For example: If your buying offer is $100, you have the option of accepting $25 in cash or $50 in store credit.”

Do you have any cleaning tips for items that might need a little freshening up?

”Every item that comes to us needs to be freshly laundered. Make sure that you wash & full dry (wet clothing does not travel well) all of your items. A fresh smelling dryer sheet can go a long way!”

What other info would be helpful to a reader if they wanted to give this a try?

”Do you really wear everything in your closet? Why not free up some room by sending them to us for cash! Spring cleaning has never been so rewarding. :)”

If you love buying designer clothing for less, {way less},take a look around the ShopMieuxwebsite and see the lovely items they are currently selling. This store could be a game-changer for my budget fashionistas!
