Drake has proven to be one of the most successful artists of our generation, and quite frankly, he still keeps winning. However, like everyone else, his journey started somewhere.

The “Started From The Bottom” rapper took to Instagram and shared a screenshot that revealed he once earned just $100 during a concert held at Kool Haus where Ice Cube headlined back in 2006.

It allegedly could have very well been Drake’s first concert. At this time, he had released his debut mixtape “Room For Improvement” earlier that year.

“On August 19, 2006, Ice Cube headlined the Kool Haus with supporting act Drake in what was likely his first ever concert,” the post read. “The Boy got paid a handsome sum of $100 and performed cuts from his debut mixtape Room for Improvement which was released earlier that year. Classic history!”

Fast forward and Drake has become one of the highest-paid entertainers across the globe. As AfroTech previously told you, part of Drake’s net worth includes $50 million in earnings from his music catalog, as of 2021. Additionally, he reportedly earns $1 million per concert, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Back in 2019, Drake’s last tour raked in $33,851,546 thanks to 23 shows held throughout Europe. Just the year before, his Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour generated a whopping $103,060,112 from 54 shows, Touring Data reports.

The numbers don’t lie. The “Honestly, Nevermind” artist has come a long way from his first concert appearance. Drake affirmed this in an accompanying message under the post on Tuesday (October 18).

He hopes other artists working for their breakthrough moment in the music industry will be inspired to keep their foot on the gas.

“This is for anybody getting 100 a show right now…keep going,” Drake wrote on his Instagram story.
