A Disneyland visit is more expensive than it’s ever been, but as guests prove time and time again, if the company puts an exorbitant price on something, someone will pay it. Many someones, actually, if the new $185 drink is any indication.

What might surprise you about this libation is that it’s actually in line with market value.

Every holiday season, the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa sets up a pop-up holiday cart. It sells Mickey-shaped gingerbread cookies and other treats, including hot chocolate and cider that you can order with your choice of spirit like Grand Marnier, butterscotch schnapps or RumChata.

The most popular of those, though, is the annual iteration of Disneyland’s dessert shot. In the past, the cart has offered chocolate chip cookies baked in the shape of a shot glass, then lined with dark chocolate and rimmed with festive sprinkles, and a similar version made with a red velvet cookie.

This year’s dessert shot is a “waffle shot.” While it’s waffle-inspired, the texture is more reminiscent of the bottom of a wafer cone, which is then lined with milk or white chocolate. You can order it with milk or egg nog, or in an alcoholic version with 11 different liquor options. Ten of those — like Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey or amaretto — cost $17 each. One of them, though, simply says, “Inquire.”

That one is Remy Martin Louis XIII Grande Champagne Cognac.

That’s right: At Disneyland, you can order a “waffle shot” filled with one of the world’s most sought-after spirits, which sells for about $4,000 a bottle. A standard 1.5-ounce pour of Louis XIII can sell for something like $500 at trendy Los Angeles restaurants, so the fact that it’s “only” $185 at Disneyland actually feels pretty reasonable, even if that's about the same cost as the most expensive single-day, single-park ticket.

Whether or not it’s reasonable to dip cognac that fine in chocolate … well, I’ll leave that up to you.

I got my waffle shot with Bailey’s and white chocolate, and I happily sipped it while trying to find the hidden Mickeys on the 700-pound gingerbread replica of the Grand Californian on display in the lobby. Just beyond, near the soaring Christmas tree, a pianist tinkled out carols and Disney songs. It might have been a simple pleasure, but it was the best $17 I spent all day.
